Good report … its the applied examples and cases that bring participation to life and reveal its value.

From an English perspective also worth looking at some great experience of Community Led Planning, particularly within more rural communities. See http://www.acre.org.uk/communityledplanning_index...

Some of the rural aspects to participation also well explored in the Participation Inquiry conducted by the Commission for Rural Communities (see: http://www.ruralcommunities.gov.uk//files/Partici... )

…And what about the recent primary election in Totnes, England to choose the next canidate for the Conservative Party for the next General Election? See details of the results and turnout etc at: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/8182833.st...

To what extent is this 'participation' and to what extent do other European countries operate primaries?

Your report helped me very much to get a better and clearer view to what public participation, citizen participation, Bürgerbeteiligung or participación ciudadana means. I helped me alot to go a step backwards and look to the proceses in Argentina. I am writing my tesis about the processes of citizen participation in waste management of Buenos Aires. Thank you alot.
I noticed that the link to (http://www.toolkitparticipation.nl) doesn't work anymore.
When I finish my tesis I will send it to you, but it is in spanish ;)

It has been a while since you commented here, but thank you. Keep visiting here. We'll post more interesting stuff soon. We've been busy with our first couple of projects. So please excuse the long delay.

Thanks for the praise. And thanks for pointing out that the link no longer works. I had a look around, but it seems that the tookit has been taken off the web.
I'd be interested to read your thesis once it is finished. Keep us updated about what you are doing. It seems like a very interesting project.
